SBC (Single Board Computer)
A single board computer is a complete computer on a single circuit board with built in intelligence and interface/control circuitry. These boards are developed in conjunction with FPGAs, which are mostly used in data processing and Communication applications. They are designed to do one or a few dedicated specific functions often with real-time computing constraints.
They have a specific form factor and is intended to be used with standard backplane or standalone configuration. Some standard architectures that are dependent entirely on single-board computers are CompactPCI, PXI, VMEbus, VXI, PICMG architecture, etc.
These boards also come with builtin BSPs in Vx works.
Vrinda Technologies has a wide range of SBC products based on Freescale Power PCs, ARM9 processors and DSPs supporting multiple backplane architectures. The various Vrinda products related to this field are given below:
| Controller Card (VTSBC8280) | ![]() |
The controller card design is based on MPC8280 PowerPC Processor and Spartan FPGA. The board provides memory interfaces and various communication interfaces like Fast Ethernet, RS232 and I2C.
| Surface Data Acquisition Board ( VTSBC8641D) | ![]() |
The Surface data acquisition board supports both gigabit Ethernet and optical interfaces. Hence it can be used for data acquisition or as a standalone SBC.
| Controller Card (VTSBC8260-VME) | ![]() |
VTSBC8260 is a VME bus based board which has in built VME32X IP and VxWorks Board Support Package (BSP) to support industrial and communication applications.
| Controller Card (VTSBC8260) | ![]() |
This is a Real Time MPC8260 Based Controller Card used in an onboard unit used to control the Sighting system, Weapons and other LRUs.
| DAMA Controller Card (VTDCC) | ![]() |
Demand-Assigned Multiple Access Subsystem (DAMA) Controller card is a custom designed card used to route Voice / data traffic to Satellite Communication (Satcom) and line of sight (LOS) links.
